Good New York/New Jersey Italian
I love Italian food, but I tend to think it is a little hard to come by good Italian. Their is a lot of crap out there. I went to Little Italy once and I think it may have been the worst Italian I have ever had. So bad that I haven't gone back down there since! Here are my picks for best Italian food.
- Minetta Tavern - McDougal and Minetta - We like this quaint little place. We normally have our Company Christmas party there which is how we found it. The menu is reasonable and the food is good. You can dress however you like and they have a smoking section. Give it a try if you are ever in the area!
- Trattoria Saporita - Hoboken - Washington St. between 3rd and 4th. - This is my favorite Italian restuarant. Everytime my family comes to town we eat here by request! I always get the same thing...We split an order of Trattoria mushrooms for an appetizer and then I get Baked Pasta. I love it!!! They give you nice warm bread when you sit down and they have a million (ok maybe 10 or 15) specials. I had the pesto once and that was good too but I always end up getting baked pasta. I have tried other people's meals and they were good also, plus the Tiramisu is excellent! Definitely worth the trip! The prices are very reasonable, and it is BYOB!
