COLORADO
Colorado was a great time...We camped all but
one day so that we could shower before we got on the plane.
On the way home we opted to give up our seats so that we would get
the vouchers for a free flight...It was awesome, we used Frequent
Flyers for the flight anyway, they gave us each 200.00 vouchers,
bumped us up to first class, and we got home earlier than if we
would have flown our original flight! You gotta love it!!!
Colorado was awesome though...They had been experiencing a drought,
but luckily we brought the rain with us.
So, here was the schedule...2 nights at Steamboat
Springs, 2 nights at Red Rocks. We took a long road trip from
Steamboat to Red Rocks through all these mountains and winding roads...Very
Cool!!!

Cool Sky Huh?? There was this lightening storm rolling
in while we were at the show and the sky looked so amazing!!
This was such a cool backdrop for them.
On the last night at Steamboat Springs James Brown was the opener...He
is such an ego-maniac!!! The funniest moment was when the
whole band (like 20 people!) is up on stage in the beginning of
the show, and they have to call James Brown out onto stage.
He can't just come out like a normal person! So, suddenly
this guy comes out...This skinny, little guy (See Below!) and starts
screaming "James Brown" in the microphone. Everyone
around me (including Greg and I) are all standing there scratching
our heads saying "What the hell happened to James Brown???"
"He looks AWFUL!!" Then we all realized that it
wasn't James Brown :) There was a sigh of relief when James
finally came out :)

One funny thing that happened...We stopped at a few
spots just because it was so pretty and we wanted to walk around
and see everything. So we stop at this one spot where we think
it would be a good place to take a hike. I am scared to death
of snakes!!!!!!! It didn't dawn on me that there may be a
snake or 2 on the hike...We were in the woods for goodness sake
(what the hell was I thinking??? I have no idea, my head was
up there!!). So, about five minutes into our walk suddenly
I realize...There might be snakes here (DUH!!!) and I freak the
hell out! I mean heart attack waiting to happen!!! Finally,
after about five minutes of breathing heavy and hyper-ventilating
I decide to act tough and say screw it! So, we continue on
our hike, la-la-la la la la. On our way back to the car we
run into some people who looked pretty cool...We stopped and chatted
for a few minutes and they were telling us how they had just ran
into a RATTLE-SNAKE! They were like right where we were.
The whole time I was freaking out in the woods I was thinking there
were only garden snakes up there...Rattle-Snakes, I would have definitely
had a nervous breakdown!!! I'm such an idiot!

So on to Red Rocks...I was very excited about
this...I had always wanted to go there. It was so amazing!!
We were about 3rd row center both nights. Robert Randolph
opened up both nights there and he had the place going nuts.
